Overview
DISE does not currently support direct usage of Microsoft Office files but it is possible to export the files from Microsoft Office so that they are then usable in DISE.
These instructions where tested using Microsoft Office 2003/2007/2010.

Microsoft Excel
Export as web page
- Open the Excel file.
- Select File / Save as Web Page.
- Click the Publish button.
- Choose the item to publish, if you would like to select a certain sheet select "Items on".
- Select "Sheet" if you want to export the complete sheet.
- Click Browse to select where the file should be saved, change the "Save as type" to "Single File Web Page" and make sure that the file extension is .mht or .mhtml.
- If you would like to make sure that any changes to this sheet are saved automatically when something changes check the "AutoRepublish" check box.
- This created .mht or .mhtml file can then be added to DISE in the Web Page Object.
Save as .CSV
- Open the Excel file.
- Select File / Save as
- Select file format: CSV-file.
- Use the csv file with the data connection function to get the data into DISE. Remember to select the Column processing box and in the Field delimiter field, enter the delimiter used when exporting (; by default)
You can still edit the .csv file in Excel after exporting, but any formatting information will be lost when you save.
Export a chart to image
- Open the Excel document and select the chart you would like to export.
- Copy the chart by pressing Ctrl+C or selecting Edit / Copy.
- Open some kind of graphic editing software and paste the image there.
- Save the image and add to DISE in an Image Object.
- It is also possible to add several charts in a slide show by using the List Object.
Word
Export as a web page
- Open the Word file.
- Select File / Save as Web Page.
- Click Browse to select where the file should be saved, change the "Save as type" to "Single File Web Page" and make sure that the file extension is .mht or .mhtml.
- This created .mht or .mhtml file can then be added to DISE in the Web Page Object.
