Social Media Object

Overview

The social media object is a connector object that connects to a social media server, retrieves some preset data and presents it in your DISE Movie. The object needs to authenticate against the server using an active account (such as a Facebook account).

Facebook

The Facebook Likes preset will display the number of likes on a Facebook page.

Create a Facebook Likes object

In the Objects tab, double-click on the Facebook icon or click it and draw where you want it on the edit area.

Facebook page

The item ID to check the numbers of likes for. When you visit a Facebook page, the ID is the 10+ digits appearing (often last) in the URL, for example 104046889634642 in http://www.facebook.com/pages/Jeffrey-Ford/104046889634642

Facebook account

Opens a dialog where you will authorize DISE to use an existing account to retrieve information.

Update interval (seconds)

The frequency by which to poll the social media server for new information.

Text before number

Specifies what text should come before the number of likes. In the below example, the text before number is "Not surprisingly,".

Text after number

The text following the number of likes. In the example, the text after number is "people like coffee.".

Twitter

The Twitter followers preset displays the number of followers for a Twitter user.

Create a Twitter Followers object

In the Objects tab, double-click on the Twitter icon or click it and draw where you want it on the edit area.

Twitter user

The Twitter user to check the number of followers for.

Twitter account
