Streaming

• Make sure the port you choose is not already used by a different process, and that it is reachable from the network.
• If you are running Windows Vista and later you may have to use a special DirectShow filter to connect to a Windows Media URL. Normally the filter should be registered automatically during the installation of DISE, but if there was a problem during the installation you can force the video object to use the stream filter. Select the Options tab and check the Override auto-detected media format, then select Windows Media WMFDemux from the list.

• Troubleshoot network connections, especially firewall settings.

Webcams

Microsoft LifeCam

The LifeCam driver takes up the entire bandwidth of the USB controller (it doesn't help to select a different USB port). If you need to run more cams, make sure to have more USB controllers.
